2022 Honda Passport Facelift Goes On Sale, Priced From $39,095


Honda has announced today that 2022 Passport prices will begin at $39,000. This includes a $1225 destination charge for the EXL trim. A mild makeover was done to the SUV model. This new exterior design features more rugged styling.

The 2022 Honda Passport’s base EX-L comes with front-wheel drive as standard, with all-wheel drive offered as an option. AWD is available in the rest of the models. You get a lot of kit with the base EX-L, which includes 20-inch alloys, leather seats, a one-touch power sunroof, a power tailgate and parking sensors. You’ll find heated front seats, an 8.-inch screen for infotainment, remote engine start and wireless smartphone charging.

Honda has changed the Passport line-up for 2022. Entirely new from the A-pillar forward, the Passport’s hood is more sculpted and features a pronounced power bulge. Redesigned front fenders and a squared-off nose add an off-road feel.

The updates aren’t just limited to the front, though. Rear bumper gets an aggressive new look that includes cutouts to accommodate larger twin exhaust outlets and a tow hitch cap.

The standard 3.5-liter V6 produces 280 horsepower (284 PS/209kW) and is sent to the wheels through a nine speed automatic transmission. The AWD models get Honda’s i-VTM4 torque-vectoring system that it claims will expand its off-road capabilities.

The i-VTM4 can be customized for various terrains by using a four-mode traction control function. Model’s equipped with it also get 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) of towing capacity. Passport has a 8.1 inch (206mm) ground clearance thanks to its independent front and rear suspensions.

The Passport Elite is the most expensive model in the range. It starts at $46,665 for AWD and unique alloy 20-inch wheels.

Passport TrailSport has been added to the lineup. It is priced at $43,695. The Passport TrailSport is 10mm wider than other models and offers more durability. The 18-inch wheels have a distinctive design, and the 245/60R18 tires are sidewall treaded to finish it off.

TrailSport’s unique grille features more aggressive bumpers at the front and back, as well as silver-painted skid plates. The grille and tailgate are marked with orange TrailSport badges. Passport and AWD badges, on the other hand, have gloss black finishes.

The interior features orange contrast stitching along the seat, doors, and steering wheel. Amber lighting has been added to the interior. TrailSport’s logo is embossed on the front seats headrests, and the mats are molded in to the rubber flooring. The TrailSport logo is embroidered on the front seat headrests. Adventurers can also use heated windshield wiper parking areas to aid in finding trails.

Honda claims that this winter, the 2022 Passport will be available in Honda dealerships.
