2022 Suzuki S-Cross Leaked Showing Fully Redesigned Body

A few days ago, Suzuki teased a new SUV for the European market set to debut on November 25, hinting at the new generation of the S-Cross. Suzuki Garage now has several images of the car online. It is possible that the cars were production units, which was captured during transportation. This reveals the entire design of this new model.

The new S-Cross is a family-oriented SUV slotting above the slightly smaller Vitara in Suzuki’s range. The current model was updated in 2019 with the addition of a mild hybrid system, however this generation actually dated back to 2013 with a controversial facelift in 2017. Suzuki had to have a more modern design in order to be competitive in the highly competitive SUV market.

The revealing photos show that the S-Cross has a different styling than its predecessor. It features a more aggressive design. Frontally, LED headlights were inspired by the India-bound XL6. The grille, which is now larger, has been moved lower into the bumper.

Moreover, there’s a skid plate and plastic cladding communicating the adventurous nature of the car. Although the profile’s rising window line is evolutionary, the large taillights and angular wheel arches make this a brand-new model.

It is likely that the S-Cross’s future model will share its new underpinnings and be based on the Vitara next-generation. Under the bonnet, we expect to see the turbocharged 1.4-liter Boosterjet engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system which in the current generation produces 127 hp (95 kW / 129 PS) and 235 Nm (173 lb-ft). Despite its “soft” appearance, the SUV will come with Suzuki’s AllGrip Select 4-wheel Drive system for better off-road performane. It will also feature an array of ADAS systems following the example of the rest of Suzuki’s range in Europe.

Official premiere is set for November 25th. The S-Cross will be available in Europe soon after. It will be placed between the C-SUV segment and B-SUV. The compact dimensions of this vehicle combine with an open, spacious cabin that is practical. In Suzuki’s range, it will bridge the gap between the closely-related Vitara and the Across which is essentially a rebadged Toyota RAV4.

Suzuki UK posted the official teaser of the SUV’s new model on Instagram. It shows off the distinctive LED headlights.
