Fisker unveiled Wednesday a prototype production ready for its 2023 Ocean electric crossover.
It is exactly one year before the planned start of production at MagnaSteyr’s Graz, Austria plant on Nov. 17, 2022. Magna Steyr also supplies the Ocean platform.
There will be three options for the Ocean. Fisker says that the Sport, the front-wheel-drive base, will feature a single 275-hp electrical motor. This motor can do 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and provide 250 miles of range.

Upgrade to the Ocean Ultra to get dual-motor all wheel drive. It boosts output by 540 HP and drops the 0-60mph time down to 3.9 seconds. Extreme increases the output to 550 horsepower and reduces the time from 0-60 to just 3.6 seconds. Fisker claims a range between 340 and 350 miles with the Ultra, while the Extreme has a greater range.
The exact dimensions and capacity of the battery packs has not been revealed. Fisker said that Ocean Sport will have lithium-ironphosphate cells (LFP) while other models will utilize nickel manganese copper (NMC) cells. CATL is the supplier of batteries.
Additionaly, the initial 5,000 produced vehicles will come in Ocean One trim. The Extreme model features 22 inch wheels and matte-metallic Big Sur Blue color. Fisker claims that the Extreme and One models come with a solar roof, which could increase range by up to 1,500 miles per year.

Customers will probably get their most electricity by charging. Fisker had previously stated that the Ocean was capable of DC fast charging up to 250kw. Fisker also plans to offer customers Electrify America charging. Fisker, who also revealed the L.A. unveil, said that vehicle-to vehicle and home charging (which the company refers to as PowerHouse) will become standard.
Fisker quotes also a towing weight of 2,040-pounds for the front-wheel-rive sport and 4,000 for all-wheel drive Ultra, Extreme and One.
Ultra, Extreme and One get previously demonstrated “California Mode”, which drops both the rear and side windows simultaneously. Rear-seat passengers can also control the temperature and sound with the “Limo Mode”.

The base Sport comes standard with a panoramic fixed-glass roof and a Sharp 17.1 inch center touchscreen. This is Foxconn’s Sharp. Intelligent Pilot’s standard driver-assist suite features automatic emergency braking as well as driver-attention monitor.
Since the concept model debuted at CES 2020, Ocean’s dimensions has grown a little. Now the Ocean’s length is 188.0 inches, up from 182.7 inches. The width is 78.5inches (up from76inches) and the height is 64.1inches (63.6 inches). Fisker didn’t reveal the full specs of Ocean, but it did note 41.1 and 40.4 inches respectively for front and back legroom.
The base Ocean Sport will be priced at $37 499, and the Ultra at $49 9999. Prices for the One and Extreme start at $68,999. Fisker requires a deposit of $250 to reserve the car. There is also an option for leasing it for $379 per calendar month and $2,999 for activation. The price includes 30,000 mile per year as well the possibility to leave at any time, without penalty.
More Fiskers may arrive beyond the Ocean in rapid succession. Project Pear is a less expensive model that will arrive in 2023 and be ready for production in America.
Fisker showed off an SUV-like pickup truck and hinted in the past at a super sedan and coupe-like crossover.
