Kia’s compact crossover Niro is being redesigned. Our latest spy shots reveal a prototype of the electric model.
For the 2019 model year, the current Niro was reborn as its Niro electric version. This new Niro electric vehicle will debut with the Niro in 2022. They will both be available as 2023 models.
The 2022 EV6 is a compact crossover from Kia that has just been launched. It serves as the first in a family of electric cars. A large crossover, the EV9 will join the family. This concept will be unveiled at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Despite this arrival, Kia plans to continue to offer electric versions of cars originally built for internal combustion power like the Niro EV. Kia intends to launch 11 EVs by 2026. Of these, seven will be dedicated EVs.
Kia Habaniro Concept, 2019 New York International Auto Show
Although the prototype has been heavily camouflaged, we already know that designers gave the Niro EV a striking look very similar to the 2023 Sportage. The Habaniro concept vehicle, which Kia unveiled in 2019, showed the new Niro and Niro.
We don’t know what specifications the Niro EV will sport. It is safe to say that the new Niro EV will have 201 horsepower and a range of 239 miles (EPA-rated) A bidirectional charger and an 800-volt electrical system could be included in the new vehicle, similar to the EV6.
It should be close to the starting price for the 2022 Niro Electric Vehicle (currently $40,000).
Keep checking back for more updates, as the development progresses.
