Mecum’s January auction in Kissimmee (Florida) will see the 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo go up for sale.
Porsche introduced the 993 911 Turbo 3.6 in 1993, but it was limited to 350 sales.
A rear-mounted turbocharged flat-6 engine of 3.6-liters produces 355 horsepower and 384 lbft. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. Speedline aluminum wheels make the car roll. It also has a sunroof, leather upholstery and a cassette player.
1994 Porsche 911 Turbo
The auction listing indicates that this is the car Will Smith drove in the film. According to certificates of authenticity issued by Porsche and Columbia Pictures. Michael Bay was the original owner. It went through several sales before finally finding its current owner.
The 911 Turbo, which currently has 34,396mi, was restored in 2006. It has received numerous awards at various concours. The 911 Turbo was displayed in Atlanta at Porsche Experience Center for eight months in 2020 and in the premier of “Bad Boys for Life”, January 2019. The sequel featured the current 911 Carrera 4S of 992 generation.
Mecum doesn’t release pre-auction estimates. However, recent transactions with 964 Turbos have reached six figures. The 964 911s are a very popular option for modifications, and have become the main canvas for Everrati, Singer, and other companies.
