BMW Teases Next-Generation M4 GT4 Customer Race Car

BMW teased 2022 M4 GT4 to be on sale next year.

It is based on the G82 BMW M4 street-ready model. This will replace the F82-generation F4 GT4 which made its debut in 2017.

BMW M Design released one teaser photo showing that the rear wing will be swan-necked, which is quite different to the one in the current model. You can also see that it has four tailpipes. It also features a prominent rear diffuser. Extended side skirts. A revised fascia includes an aerodynamic splitter.

Like the road car, the new M4 GT4 will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder but whereas the street-legal model pumps out 503 hp in M4 Competition specification, the M4 GT4’s powertrain will be detuned to comply with racing regulations.

The interior of the M4 GT4 will also be radically different than the standard M4 as it’ll be stripped out and fitted with a full roll cage, a pair of racing bucket seats, and all necessary safety and regulation-required equipment.

Pricing and availability details haven’t been announced yet, but the previous-generation model was priced from around €170,000 in Europe and $210,000 in the United States.
