Ugur Sahin Design, a Dutch design firm has reinvented Ferrari F50. Project Fenix was the name of this concept, which was designed to mark the 15th anniversary the firm.
Although the design is clearly a reference to the F50’s original F50 with its integrated rear wing basket and black body lines, it has modernized features such as larger front air intakes, slimmer headlights and taillights.
Although the original F50 was an F-type two-seater mid-engine with a targatop, it is not clear from these renderings if Ugur Shin preserved the targatop for Project Fenix.
Ugur Sahin Design Project Fenix Ferrari F50 tribute
The F50 was launched by Ferrari in 1995, as the successor of the F40. In a limited production run of 349, Ferrari produced a GT racing version. Ferrari Enzo was the successor to F50.
Ugur Sahin failed to mention what was underneath the transparent engine cover of its F50 supercar concept. The original F50 had a 4.7 liter V-12 engine that produced 520 HP and 347 Lb-ft. This engine was related with Ferrari’s F1 engine. Period estimates show that the F50 could reach 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, and top speeds of up to 202 mph. These figures are impressive for today’s performance.
Ugur Sahin’s plans for Project Fenix to become a production car is not clear, although the company has managed a few coach-built supercars. U.S. tuner Mallett previously joined the company on small batches of Chevrolet Corvette Z03 coupes. The Anandi was also derived from the Corvette. Ugur Sahin unveiled the Project F concept, a Ferrari 458-derived Ferrari, in 2014. However, it did not immediately attract any buyers for a production model.
