Ferrari Roma Gets A Discreet Makeover And A Power Boost By Novitec

It has already been two years since Ferrari unveiled the Roma, so it’s about time for Novitec to present its own version. The tuning kit for Maranello’s entry-level GT includes discreet styling updates and more power from the twin-turbo V8.

Starting with the exterior design, Novitec’s bodykit is made of naked carbon with a high-gloss coating. A new front apron has a larger splitter to match the updated grill and headlight trim. A Roma’s aerodynamic sides sills are also available, along with carbon mirror covers and taillight surrounds. Diffuser inserts can be added, as well.

Although the bodykit appears discreet due to the Roma character, Vossen’s NF10 forged wheel is what makes it stand out. They have a diameter of 21-inches with 255/30 ZR 21 tires at the front and 22-inches with 315/25 ZR 22 tires at the back, and come in 72 different color options and three surface finishes.

The GT comes in a Novitec style with sports springs that lower it 35mm (1/4 inch). In order to avoid scraping the splitter on speed bumps, there is a hydraulic front lift system that’s raising the front axle by 40 mm (1.6 inches) through the touch of a button.

Maximum 695 horsepower

While the Roma is more focused on comfort, style, and elegance than the rest of Ferrari’s range, it is still a pretty fast and agile grand tourer. For those who seek something more, Novitec is upgrading the twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 power output from the stock 612 hp (456 kW / 620 PS) to a more substantial 695 hp (518 kW / 704 PS), while taking the torque figure from 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) to 882 Nm (651 lb-ft).

N-Tronic’s control module made it possible to boost the injection. It introduced new mappings and ignition. Also, the electronic boost pressure control was upgraded and throttle response optimized. The tuner is also offering high-performance catalysts.

Performance is affected by the improved power numbers. More specifically, Novitec’s Roma accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds, and from 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 8.9 seconds representing an improvement of -0.2 seconds and -0.4 seconds accordingly. Additionally, the top speed increased by 5 km/h (3mph), to greater than 325km/h (202mph).

Novitec will also add Alcantara and leather upholstery to the interior of the cabin, in any color. The tuner didn’t provide pricing for the complete package but given that the Ferrari Roma has a starting price of $222,630 in the US, we are sure the naked carbon components won’t come cheap.
