Both the 2022 Cadillac CT4V Blackwing (and CT5V Blackwing) have many Easter eggs scattered throughout their cabins. Cadillac explained some details Monday, but it takes away the joy of finding them.
You can choose between manual and paddle-shifted automatic transmissions for both sedans. For manual cars, blanking panels where paddle shifters might otherwise be are decorated with laser-etched maps of General Motors’ Milford Proving Grounds (and Warren Tech Center) Those two Michigan sites are where development work for most GM vehicles—including the V-Series Blackwing models—took place.
Additional Easter eggs include the Mondrian design on each car’s underwing and the V-Series logo at the Air Strakes. These are both part of the Carbon Fiber 1 Package. Cadillac stated that this is not an exhaustive list and will let owners search for the remainder.
Cadillac V-Series Blackwing Easter Eggs
Blackwing sedans get special recognition for their limited production status. Every car receives a serialized plaque at the steering wheel. The first 250 Collector Series cars will have special plates on their sills or B-pillars. The sill plates bear the signatures of members of the V-Series team. Each car’s serialized steering column is indicated by the B-pillar plaque.
The CT4V Blackwing’s 3.6-liter twin turbocharged V-6 produces 472 horsepower and 445 torque. While the CT5V Blackwing uses a CT6-liter V-8 that generates 668 horsepower and 659 torque. This sedan is separate from non-Blackwing CT4/V and CT5/V. It also has the CT5/V Blackwing’s 4.2-liter twin turbo Blackwing V-8.
