Mercedes-Benz revealed a teaser image for the prototype all-electric VisionEQXX and said that it would be released on January 3, 2022.

In late 2020, the German automaker teased this vehicle and released another teaser image in July. Member of the board of management of Daimler AG Markus Schäfer has now taken to LinkedInTo share another teaser about the car and to announce some additional details.

According to Schäfer, the Vision EQXX is a compact-class vehicle that can drive 620 miles (1,000 km) on a single charge in real-world conditions. The vehicle will have a remarkable single-digit consumption for kilowatt hours per 100 km on normal highway speeds, Schafer said.

Mercedes-Benz also aims to make the Vision EQXXX aerodynamically efficient. It suggests that it will have a lower drag than the EQS. German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is working on increasing the energy density of cells by 20 percent compared with the EQS.

This teaser makes it clear that the VisionEQXXX will feature LED headlights as well as an LED light bar running across its front. The Vision EQXXX will not have traditional wing mirrors and it will feature a sculpted roof and LED taillights.

The carmaker hasn’t confirmed if the Vision EQXX will spawn a production variant but even if it doesn’t, the technologies that it debuts will undoubtedly find their way into future electric vehicles from the Three-Pointed Star.
