Mild facelift pegged for ultra-lux SUV

Mercedes-Benz is in the initial stages of updating its Maybach GLS-Class ultra-luxury GLS-Class.

GLS-Class’s current-generation model arrived in the market as a 2020 model. The Maybach version was introduced one year later.

Mercedes has a tradition of updating the GLS-Class mid-cycle for the model year 2024. Changes slated for regular SUVs should be made to the Maybach edition.

The taillights are currently covered with a little camouflage. We can see the new interiors of the lights despite this camouflage.

Prototypes with higher levels of sophistication will most likely include new components at the front.

With this update, the GLS-Class interior, which includes the Maybach model, will be redesigned. According to our source, elements taken from the S-Class such as the steering wheel design will be included in the GLS-Class. The digital instrument cluster, and information system graphics should be updated.

Although it is not clear as to what powertrains will be used, a plug-in hybrid option may be an option. GLS-Class is currently available with mild-hybrid V-8 and turbocharged inline-6 engines. Maybach’s version is only available in the GLS600 Grade powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. It produces 550 horsepower and 538 lbft of torque. A 48-volt mild hybrid setup can temporarily increase 21 HP and 184 Lb-ft.

The updated GLS-Class lineup, which includes the Maybach model, will be available in the early 2023. The new SUVs are expected to arrive in 2024, as mentioned previously.
