Valtteri Bottas Waxes Lyrical About The Go-Anywhere Ineos Grenadier

Finnish race driver Valtteri bottas might have lost his place at Mercedes F1 for 2022. He will now be joining Alfa Romeo to compete in the following season. However, he has contractual obligations that include helping promote Ineos Grenadier.

Ineos holds a 1/3 stake in Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One. That means the chemical giant has now a 33% share in the team as Toto Wolff, Daimler, and even Daimler. Bottas was recently contacted by Ineos in order to place the Grenadier through difficult terrain.

Bottas is the one narrating this video. He talks about how much he enjoys exploring the outdoors, and also going off-roading. The clip shows Bottas driving his Grenadier on muddy roads, crossing streams, and up stunning mountain passes. The 10-time F1 race champion says it is crucial to properly test a Grenadier in order to ensure that it works well.

Ineos Grenadier is a product that has taken a while to develop. This was after Land Rover decided to retire the Defender. The BMW six-cylinder petrol- and diesel-powered engines that power the offroader are paired with an eight-speed ZF transmission.

In September, Ineos Automotive announced that UK pricing for the Grenadier will start at approximately £48,000 ($65,000). This off-roader will be available in other European, African, Asia Pacific and North American markets. Key pricing details for North American models haven’t been announced yet, but Ineos says it will launch the Grenadier locally in the summer of 2023.
